Public Hearing & Informational Session for Pooler Parkway / Quacco Road Widening Project

The City of Pooler is holding a public hearing and information session for the Quacco Road Widening Project. The hearing will be held on November 15, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers on the third floor of Pooler City Hall, located at 100 US Highway 80 SW, Pooler, Georgia. A presentation will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. describing the project and summarizing the planned improvements. The public will have the opportunity to ask questions and leave comments following the presentation.

The Quacco Road project includes widening and lane configuration changes from Blue Moon Crossing to Canal Bank Road. The improvements will include pedestrian and cyclist facilities, as well as new signals at the intersection of Old Quacco.

LOCATION OF MINOR DISCHARGE: Harden Canal near the overpass of Pooler
Pkwy (32.112140, -81.266128).

CAUSE OF DISCHARGE: The cause of the discharge was an overflow of the
treatment plant diversion pond.

ESTIMATED DISCHARGE: 8,640 gallons

RECEIVING WATERS: Harden Canal, a tributary of the Ogeechee River.

CORRECTIVE ACTION TAKEN: The pond level was lowered.

SPILL STATUS: Discharge is no longer leaking.

CORRECTIVE ACTION TAKEN TO PREVENT FUTURE DISCHARGE: Higher
amount of free-board space in the pond was created.

Pooler Polling Location Changes & Corrections

Please note that Precinct 8-16 has changed from the Oaks to the Museum of the Mighty Eighth located at175 Bourne Ave Pooler, GA 31322. We have also been informed that the State of Georgia sent out a number of misprinted precinct cards. The corrections are as follows:

Hurricane Ian City Hall Closure | September 29-30

The State of Georgia and Chatham County have both issued a State of Emergency for Hurricane Ian. Due to the threat of severe weather conditions, Pooler City Hall will be closing Thursday, September 29 at 3:00 p.m. and will remain closed through the weekend. Pending any unforeseen weather or safety issues, we anticipate resuming normal business hours Monday, October 3.
