DATE OF MINOR DISCHARGE: Saturday, October 24, 2020
REPORT SUBMITTED: Monday, October 26, 2020
LOCATION OF MINOR DISCHARGE: Manhole in the area of S. Godley Station Blvd.
in front of the Woodspring Suites at approximately 32.133515, -81.258473.
CAUSE OF DISCHARGE: The cause of the discharge was a cracked sewer force
main.
ESTIMATED DISCHARGE: Estimated less than 9000 gallons.
RECEIVING WATERS: Drainage inlet contiguous to the City’s storm water system.
CORRECTIVE ACTION TAKEN: Broken section of pipe was replaced and debris and
Stormwater removed from the area and returned to sewer collection system for
treatment. The affected area was neutralized with calcium hydroxide.
SPILL STATUS: Sewage is no longer leaking
CORRECTIVE ACTION TAKEN TO PREVENT FUTURE DISCHARGE: New force
main install in progress.
